Orien Alexander Alderson Jr. went on to be with the Lord on September 23, 2012.

Orien A. Alderson Jr. was born in 1932 in Nashville, Tennessee to Orien and Vera Alderson Sr.

Orien had many accomplishments from earning his Doctorate of Philosophy in Clinical Christian Counseling, to serving in the Military to working for the Miami Fire Rescue. During the 1950’s he was a member of the 202nd Medical Battalion Army National Guard.

On June 8, 1953 Orien was hired by The Miami Fire Rescue in which he was a fire fighter and engineer for station#9A on ladder#9 for 33 years. In 1963 he participated in the first MFD formal driver engineer training class. In 1967 while off duty he installed flooring tiles and did the entire floor work during Station#9 renovations. On January 4, 1986 Orien retired as a fire fighter and became the Miami Fire Rescue Chaplain until recently.

However in his many accomplishments, the one he was most known and loved for was his role as a Pastor. Orien was known to many as Pastor O.A. or O’Baby. As a man of God he impacted many lives with his words of encouragement and love. Pastor O.A. was also known as the walking bible, as he spoke with you he imparted words of wisdom from the scriptures. Pastor O.A. also had a great sense of humor. He would share funny stories while speaking Spanglish, gringo poco loco was his favorite line.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years Donna, son Paul and daughters Kira and Dwan.

He will be greatly missed and always remembered.

You were our Spiritual Dad. Our Poppy O. You will be missed in our lives each time we pass your home but you will live on in our hearts always. Looking forward to the day we can all rejoice together. We loved the jokes but enjoyed the words of encouragement you gave us on a daily basis even more. We will look after the doggie boys as much as we can and tell them how much they were loved. Sandy and Bella miss seeing you and them but they have grown to understand that you are in a much better place then all of us now. We love and will miss you until He calls us home.

Pastor O,
It was if it were yesterday that me and Mike Bellizzi started to attend your bible class back in 87.
Words cannot describe how much I loved you, and I would always greet you with a hug and a kiss on the cheek. I just thank my Lord that I was able to be impacted by your teachings. Not only did you impart your biblical knowledge to me but to hundreds that passed thru your classes over the decades.

At times your jokes bowled me over and your scoldings and yes, you were a big-time encourager. I guess now " you'll " and Brother Suthered will be attending bible classes with some heavy-duty teachers. I never realized that the last bible class I had with you in July would be the last; just wishing I could play the rewind button on the recorder and do it all over again.
Just save me a seat next to you in our future bible class.
I Love U Bro
