Austin (Andy) Andrews Obituary

On January 20th Austin (Andy) Andrews, passed away peacefully in Palm Beach Gardens Florida.

He retired from the Navy after 14 years of service which included three and a half years as a Prisoner of War (POW). He was awarded numerous commendations and citations for his military service including the prestigious Bronze Star. He authored a book (Andy Andrews POW-152) detailing his early life and years as a POW. Andy lived a long successful life of 89 years and was a man of great integrity and courage.

He is survived by three daughters, Mary Ann, Patty, Valerie and son Andy (Austin), seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a loving man who will be truly missed by his family and many friends. Services will be held at Christ Fellowship Church (South Campus) at 5312 Northlake Blvd. in Palm Beach Gardens (33418) on January 25th. Viewing will be from 2:30-3:30pm and services will be held from 3:30-4:30. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Andersonville National War Memorial trust, P.O. Box 186, Andersonville, GA 31711.
