I liked Ron. He was a good family friend. I remember him as an enthusiastic school teacher, a good skier, an occasional banjo player and a boy from the hood.

He took my Dad and I skiing at Whistler in 1968, my first time. After a season spent on Grouse it seemed huge. Decades later, as an adult, I would see him in Whistler lift lines and we would have good, energetic chats.

My parents had a lot of good friends like Ron. Growing up around them helped me become a better person. For that I am grateful.

Rest in Peace Ron. Your presence on earth made a positive difference.

Ron Bone was a good friend to my parents, especially my father, Einar Carlson, for most of their lives. They enjoyed shared dinners and conversations over the years. One in particular stands out: Dad (Einar) claimed that 90% of modern music is crap. Ron and I teamed up in opposition to this outrageous statement. Ron was witty, ethical, funny and fun. Our family is grateful to have known him. We send our warmest condolences.
