It is with the greatest of sadness that we announce the passing of Luigia Cipolla on May 23, 2020. She joins in heaven her beloved husband, Benvenuto. She leaves behind her cherished daughter Paola, caring son-in-law Mario Masellis and her extended family in Italy. She will be missed by so many whom she profoundly touched through her friendship in her ninety one years of life. She will be reunited with all of her beloved who left before her. In the latter years she was often the oldest person in the room by age only as she was always the youngest at heart. Her wit was quick. Her smile contagious. Her positive demeanor filled the room with goodness. Her ability to complete crossword puzzles was uncanny. Her culinary skills put her in a class of her own. Her wisdom was profound. Her faith in God unwavering. With failing health she managed to find entertainment in the myriad of medical appointments as doctors would often pass her by in the waiting room as they came out to call for the 90+ year old not believing she could possibly be the patient they were looking for. The question of “is your year of birth correct in the form?” was a given. A thank you to Dr. Berger and his team for a gentle approach to managing the final part of her journey. A huge thank you to Dr. Fasano who followed her for years managing a progressive condition with skill and to SouthLake Regional Health Center’s Dr. Peniston and his team for their dedication to skilled and intricate procedures. Lastly, a very special thank you to her most trusted Dr. Zadra for his expert medical skill, compassionate care and understanding as she navigated a very complex decision making process. Due to the ongoing government restrictions, visitation, service and burial will be limited to a small few of the immediate family with a limit of 10 individuals; thus regrettably, on an invitation basis only. The family is comforted by the fact that so many would like to come and say a final farewell, but request that everyone stay safe for now and instead ask that those unable to attend, remember her in a special way with a prayer on the day of her service and burial. A service will be held for her on Tuesday May 26, 2020 at 1:30 PM followed by burial. A Roman Catholic Funeral mass will be held at a later time once the current restrictions and travel bans are lifted. If desired, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
