Erlene "Granny" Cunningham age 82, of Samantha, AL became one of the Lords angel's on Sept 1st 2018 at Hospice of West Alabama. Visitation will be from 6pm-8pm at Sunset Funeral Home on Wednesday the 5th of September. Services will be at 2pm on Thursday, visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist in Sterling, AL. Officiated by Rev. Ronny Earnest.
She is preceded in death by her parents Baxter and Adele Miller and her son; Douglas J. Cunningham. She is survived by her husband; Jack Cunningham, daughters; Tammie Cunningham DuBose & Tina Cunningham Ridlespurge (Don) & son; -Bradley Duane Cunningham. Grandchildren Brandy Swindle (John), Tamara Holman (Jeremy), Becky Wise, Cody Ragland, Autumn Skye DuBose and Casey Angeloff. Great Grandchildren Chasity Horne, Nickolas Griffin, Ashlynd Holman, Haleigh Ragland, Madison Cunningham, Nathan Griffin, Brianna Lay, Alex Horne, Brylynn Ragland, Baylie Holman and Cheyenne Ragland. Two brothers; John Miller (Barbara), Jack Miller (Gail), four sisters; Hazel Utley, Bonnie Sellers, Ethel Earnest (Jimmy), Dale Smelley and several nieces and nephews.
She was loved by so many and touched so many lives. She raised her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and took care of many others that also called her Granny Cunningham.
Pallbearers will include Alan Richardson, Randy Earnest, Chris Miller, Jeff Miller, Reggie Cook Sr., Daylon Miller and Bobby Dyer.
Honorary Pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama and the community of Samantha and the surrounding areas. In lieu of flowers; the family ask donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama in memory of Erlene Cunningham.
The family has provided the following directions to the church and cemetery. North on Hwy 43, turn onto Northside Road across from Crossroads Store (approx. 4.2 miles); slight left onto Oregonia Road / Waldrop Road, road veers at one point to the left (approx. 4.3 miles); turn left onto Evanstown Road (approx. 1/2 mile); turn right onto Old Jasper Road to Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church (22803 Old Jasper Road, Berry AL 35546.
