It is truly with a heavy heart and great sadness to hear of the passing of my very 1st friend ever in the U.S., my best friend, my office colleague, my mentor, my advisor, my sister, everything rolled into a wonderful friendship.
Dear Rosalie Fay, you found a quiet and shy girl new in the NMB office and in this country in the ladies rest room trying vigorously to wipe away tears, as soon as she heard someone entering the 1st door to the ladies room. But you were too observant, and would not leave until I told you why I was crying (if someone in the office upset me or was mean to me ... of course you would have confronted that person if it was true). I had no choice but to tell you the truth that I was terribly homesick with my 1st Christmas around the corner away from my home and family. You and Frank that very weekend met me at my apartment and spent the day showing me all the sights of Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Hollywood. Christmas you made sure I was not alone, you invited a few office friends for a Christmas tree trimming party / Christmas day at your home, making sure I WAS NOT ALONE for my 1st Christmas here. Our "Hanukkah Bush" LOL You are my life long friend from 1974 till death do us part !! I could write a book on our friendship, from the day I met you and Frank, and knowing and approving Jacques (as my boy friend then LOL ) , our wedding, Michelle's Baptism as her God-mother, exchanging gifts for Christmas .... our Santa and Mrs. Claus every year in Chatsworth, and our grand-daughters Hailey and Kalli meeting you when we visited California 2 years ago.
I know the last year and this year was difficult for you, health wise, now you are in a better and heavenly place with your beloved Frank. Distance made no difference in our friendship, and I am happy we had many phone conversations to assure the strength and love in our friendship. I will miss you Rosalie Fay. Rest In Peace my dear dear friend. Till we meet again. SHALOM and GOD BE WITH YOU !!
