I just learned of Diane''s passing and am truly saddened. I met her when I visited my mother several years ago in Ledyard. They were neighbors and Diane and I became fast friends. We used to walk around the neighborhood with Becket. My fondest memory of her was when she would floss Becket''s teeth. It's because if her encouragement that I adopted my Baxter. I miss our phone chats. May she rest in peace, I will miss her.

Dear Aunt Di, May your heart and soul rest in peace. I sure wish we could get together one more time. As I look at these pictures of us when we would get the Basslers and D'Amatos together, it makes me long for the innocent days of youth and snub the curses of age.

I had the pleasure of knowing Diane for almost 40 years. I was her hair stylist the whole time. She was a super person, and we shared our love of animals. I will miss her. I hope “Beckett” has found a nice new home. John Driscoll

Dear William and Family,
I am saddened to read of the passing of your sister Diane. I have fond recollections of our elementary school years at St. Mary's School. She was a very outgoing and sincere friend to everyone. During seventh and eighth grade some of us hung out at your home as well as other classmates homes many Friday nights. We listened to records and drank lots of coke. If memory serves me right your home was on West Rocks Road. I met Diane once while she was visiting a friend in Glastonbury. I was walking our daughter and a friendly dog approached. Diane called the dog and we recognized each other. We lived for many years in Mystic and have recently relocated to Old Saybrook. I will light a candle in church tomorrow and think of her fondly. Diane was a very special friend to my son Joey. I probably knew more about her than many. May she rest in peace.

Dear Bassler family;
I’m saddened by the passing of Diane. My heart and prayers are with you at this time. I worked with Diane for many many years at Electric Boat Shipyard and she was one of the kindest and most helpful coworkers. We had many conversations and good laughs over the years and her true pride was when she would rescue greyhound dogs. Diane will be missed by all.
Sincerely;
Brenda Choate
