She was born on July 29, 1931 in Boston, daughter of William and Margaret (Hallisey) Hurley. Betty was raised in the Roxbury and Mission Hill neighborhoods of Boston and graduated from Fisher Junior College in Boston. She worked as an Account Executive for Faxon Company publishing for nearly twenty years until her retirement in 1998.
Betty is survived by her children, Sandra McDonough of Walpole, Gail Caprarella and her husband Robert of Norfolk, George Augenstene and his wife Brenda of Norwood, Joanne Mitiguy and her husband Edmund of North Attleboro; grandchildren, Linda, Paul, Michael, Ashley, Eric, Keri, Kayla, Kristen; great granddaughter, Sara; many siblings, nieces, nephews, and beloved pets including Boomer, Sox, Sophie, Gabby, Punkin, Trixie, and Dusty. Reunited with her husband, George Roy Augenstene, Jr., and with her dear friend, the late Gertie Holmes.
Funeral services will be private.
