James Otis Smolik, age 82, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023. Beloved son of the late Ervin and the late Dorothy Smolik; loving father Susan J. Nelson and Michael J. Smolik; devoted long-time partner of Angeline Hickey and her children, Christine Aderman, Jerry Hickey, Ronald Hickey, Tim Hickey, Eileen Hickey and Denise McClement; proud grandfather of David M. Smolik, Tyler P. Nelson, Timothy P. Nelson and Jade A. Smolik. Cremation private.
