Julie was a dear friend, co-worker and in recent years we became prayer partners at the St Louis County Library. She was very concerned about the poor and disadvantaged people. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. I am so glad that she was a part of my circle of friends.

Julie was a sweet, kind cousin, and what I remember most is her being so caring towards my grandmother Lodwick. She would read to my grandmother (her grandmother’s sister) toward the end of her life. I’m so grateful to have known Julie. May God wrap His arms around you all.

Julie and I met when, ostensibly, I have as in a position of authority over her. It took me , maybe, five minutes to learn that Julie was s subject to, deferential to, nobody but her deep faith. Over the last forty years we have laughed, teased, mourned the political situation of our country , and tried always to outwit one another. I will miss her terribly. And I will toast her with the cranberry and vodka cocktail she introduced me to. RIP in peace, dear one.

Julie and I met in graduate school and she was always a delight to be with. Our friendship endured beyond and she was a regular at our book club. I will miss her quick wit and big heart. Peace to all who loved her, she will be missed by so many. Rest sweet Julie, may there be ample sunshine and endless rows of good books to enjoy. I miss you already.

I am so sad to hear of Julie’s passing. We’ve been meeting for book club gatherings together over the past few years. She shared good food and loved to engage in our conversations on books of the macabre. She will be missed.
