After graduating from West High School, Minneapolis, MN, he enlisted in the Navy. He retired from the Navy as Chief Yeoman after 20 years of which was spent mostly on submarines.
Morrie then went to college for air conditioning and electric. In 1980 he started his own company (Mobile Home Electric & Air) in Silver Springs along with Alison, his wife. The business is now owned by Jim Branson (Morrie’s son) and Pat Luce under the name of Hometown Air and Electric. During this time, Morrie served as president of the local air conditioning association.
He enjoyed playing softball and golfing in his spare time. He also volunteered with the Lions Club and was active in many activities while living in Georgetown, GA from 1995 to 2012.
Morrie is survived by his wife Alison (Fuller) of 59 years, sister Carol LaBelle of St. Anthony, MN, son James Branson (Marie) of Silver Springs, daughter Sandy Welch (David) of Ocala, three grandsons Ryan Meyers (Tara) of Ocala, Kyle Meyers (Katie) of Toledo, OH, Randy Branson of Silver Springs, brother-in-law Alan Fuller and sister-in-law Justine Fuller of Ocala,, nephews Jim Fuller, Charles Fuller, Danny LaBelle, niece Cindy Koolmo, four great-grandchildren and preceded in death brother-in-law Keith Fuller.
Burial will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL, Friday, November 6, 2020 at 2:00 pm.
