Patricia Sonnenblick, 85 long branch passed away Thursday September 7th at home. She was born in the bronx and was a brilliant woman. She graduated high school at 16 and college at 19. She received her masters degree from Harvard. She was a teacher in the beginning of her career and then became the principal and director of Creedmore State Hospital by age 30. She was known for her sarcasm and sharp tongue with her family friends and students. Aunt Pat was a die hard Yankee fan and never missed a game. She was an avid reader and sudoku lover as well as true Bingo player. You could find her with her sister every weekend playing Bingo with more Boards than anyone there. She took early retirement in 1996 to move to New Jersey to be with her sister and help raise her great nieces. She never missed a school event, a game or a recital or a chance to babysit. In return she asked for home cooked meals. She had a heart of gold and would go above and beyond for her family. In her last year of life she had the honor of having Takia Dickerson and Kachina Whittaker with her everyday and enjoyed life to the fullest with so many laughs and lots of love.
Pat was predeceased by her sister Carol Harris her brother in law Barry Harris and her parents Eleanor and Philip Sonnenblick. She is survived by her niece Michele Shaftel, her great nieces Alexis Shaftel and Morgan Shaftel and her favorite puppy Bluey who she fondly called "Dog."
