CARLSBAD --
Beloved wife and mother, Carmen Sylveria (Acuna) Lopez, 85, went home, into the arms of her Lord and Savior, on November 26, 2012.
A life-long resident of Carlsbad, she was the youngest daughter of Alberto and Nemessia Acuna. She married Richard Lopez in 1951 and together they raised three children: Barbara Echevaria of San Clemente, Rick (Deb) Lopez of Carlsbad, and Carol (Cam) Covington of Kingston, Wash. She was also a dear grandma to Brett, Chris, Mark, and Angela.
Carmen was extraordinarily generous as an expert seamstress and professional beautician. With her adventurous, fun-loving spirit, she enjoyed leading Senior Day Trippers for many years. She loved all animals and hand-nursed many strays back to health.
Family and friends will be gathering for a memorial service at 10 a.m., on Friday, December 7, at St. Patrick's Church in Carlsbad, Calif. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carmen's name, to your favorite charity or local Humane Society
