I had the honor of working with this sweet family during the time that Ezra was on this earth. What a little Warrior!!! He fought the battle, showed his sweet smiles and was cared for by his loving and attentive parents. There are truly angels on this earth and Ezra is one of them. Ezra, I know that you are well and happy in your heavenly home. You will be missed. Gemina and Dilyn, I am so so sorry for your loss. Kathryn Higgs

Until we meet again Chubs

Ezra Caple Vargas was born On October 1st 2017, in Okinawa Japan at 24 weeks of life weighing 2lbs. Ezra was known as “Chubs” because of all the chubbiness he was sporting. He came into this world on a mission that was greater than the minds of his parents could understand. While Ezra proved to be resilient from the minute he entered into the world, his birth was not without complications. Immediately after birth he was placed on oxygen support through intubation. The first three weeks of his life he was under 24-hour care within the pediatric intensive care unit in the Naval Hospital of Okinawa, Japan. Ezra was quiet the traveler, he was medevac to Tripler army medical center in Hawaii where he stayed with their NICU facility for two months. He was medevac'd again after two months of life , to San Diego where he stayed at Balboa naval medical center and also Rady’s children hospital. Ezra touched the lives of many , leaving his smile imprinted on their hearts. He was filled with joy and love. Those who came into contact with him had no choice but to fall in love with his personality. Ezra was small but mighty. He was here for a short period of time but his love will last a lifetime on Earth. Ezra had 9 months on this earth, 7 of which he spent in the hospital battling for his life . He survived 5 surgeries and surpassed the doctor’s expectations of him. His touch was warm and welcoming .
