A little lady with a huge presence. Graceful, faithful, a holy presence, and honorable are just a few words that describe Mary Jane Deibert. Born the daughter of Italian immigrants Domenico Piazza and Josephine Moscato Piazza on October 22, 1930, Mary Jane is the seventh of nine children. She grew up in Yorkville OH, a small coal mine and steel mill town. She considered joining the Sisters of Charity, a religious order, while living in Chicago, IL. She instead became a Catholic school teacher in Chicago and continued teaching at Catholic schools after moving to California. She was later employed by the Oceanside Unified School District for 25 years as an instructional assistant at several elementary schools and Oceanside High School. On May 19, 1956, she married USMC Staff Sergeant Harold J.E. Deibert, who preceded her in eternal rest in 2010. Mary Jane was the mother of three children- Sharon Lynn Williamson, Harold J.E. Deibert Jr. (who preceded her in eternal rest in 1999), and Catherine Josephine Baird. Her blessings continued with six grandchildren- Sara (Williamson) Lyon, Christina (Deibert) Kubicek, Shawna Williamson, Patrick Wisdom, Kimberly Wisdom, and Victoria Wisdom. Mary Jane was additionally blessed with step-grandchildren Bradley and Carissa Baird. God’s blessings continued to shower Mary Jane with three great-granddaughters- Cambria and Abrey Lyon, and Emily Kubicek. Mary Jane’s love for her two son-in-laws Sam Williamson and Tom Baird, and daughter-in-law Paula Deibert is unwavering, along with her love for her granddaughters’ husbands Sean Lyon (Sara) and Regan Kubicek (Christina). Mary Jane was sincerely devoted to God and expressed outwardly her endearing love for her family. Mary Jane was fervent, strong, and dedicated in her daily prayer life and faith. She is Our Gift from God and one of our Lord's most faithful servants. As she would say to all on her salutations- “God Bless and God Love!”
