I didn't know Marcella all that well but I really enjoyed our phone conversations. I loved her sense of humor. A good person, a big loss.

Marcella was the hub of our community and drew people together. She will be missed by many. I feel that it is the end of an era. She had loyalty and deep love for many people. She could be a hard task master with high standards and would point out procrastination and misspelled words. She helped many students graduate from HCS. You could count on Marcella for the latest news. She was a clearing house for community events. If Marcella didn't know what was happening, you could count on her to find out. Over the years our friendship deepened. I will miss our telephone conversations, sharing of book titles, political discussions, and laughter, lots of laughter.

Marcella was a very special and unique that I will truly miss visiting with. She did so much for others..the students, her co-workers, family, and especially her friends. She was always there to listen no matter how busy she was. Will I ever miss her presence!! She certainly left many of us with memories to cherish. Although I was unable to make it to Marcella's service, my thoughts and prayers have been with all of you and will continue being with you.

My condolences to Mrs. Lavarnway's family. I was a student at Hammond Central before she retired, and spent much of my spare time in the library, my nose in a book. She was always there to offer an option for my next reading adventure. Rest in peace.

Marcella there is an empty space in my heart now that you are gone. I will find comfort knowing you are in heaven. You were so important to many people. My children thought of you as another grandparent. They too are upset. Rest In Peace Dear Lady. Love Penny
