Domenic William Loruse, 98, was taken by the Lord August 16, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Torrington, Connecticut December 29, 1919 to Leonard Lorusso and Anna Maria (Oppito) Lorusso, immigrants from Italy.
He attended school in Torrington, Oklahoma City University and OSU Extension Center. Domenic joined the Army Air Corps before Pearl Harbor and remained in the service until World War II ended. While stationed in Oklahoma City, he met and married Betty Jean Hoskins, and they had one son, Michael.
After the war, Domenic worked at Tinker as an Equipment Specialist until his 1981 retirement. Domenic won several awards at Tinker and was sent to correct engine problems worldwide. After retirement, he had a successful landscape business for ten years.
Domenic was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Betty, two sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Barbara of Edmond; son Michael (Lisa) Loruse of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Michael Loruse II (fiancée Jordan Todd), Jennifer (Patrick) Yu of Oklahoma City and Lauren (Travis) Nettleton and their two children Lila and Leon Nettleton of Yukon, OK.
Domenic was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church, the American Legion, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Domenic loved the Lord, his family and friends. His interests were yard work, golf, football, cooking and travel. He traveled some while at Tinker and more often after retirement. He enjoyed cruises and international travel.
