Eris Mozell Oldham was born on January 17th in Dekalb, TX., the 6th child of Charles and Lela Worden. She grew up on the family farm in Bradley, OK, she survived the depression, the dustbowl, and many other hardships due to the love and strong faith of her family. Despite these challenges, her family was fun-loving and Eris loved to tell stories of her family gathering around to listen to the radio, and of the many nights spent listening to her father playing the fiddle. When Eris turned 18 she attended Oklahoma College for Women for 1 year before moving to Oklahoma City. She worked at Western Union as a Teletypist before and after the war, before meeting her future husband Donald Oldham. They were married February 15th, 1947 and became active members of the community and charter members of Memorial Christian Church where Eris served many roles including church historian. They were blessed with 3 children.Eris was a military wife, a gifted artist and seamstress, who loved sewing for her children and grandchildren. Eris also enjoyed her role for many years as a den mother. In later years she enjoyed traveling with friends and family, painting and sewing. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many lifelong friends were her greatest joy, well that and a good chocolate pie!
