

Garold was a B26 pilot with the 9th Airforce during WWII. He flew in the European Theater and was a part of the Battle of the Bulge. He was shot down twice and belly-landed both bombers. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain and received numerous medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Garold, a self-taught engineer, was in the oil business all his professional life and was a long-time employee of National Tank Company. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and member of the India Shrine Temple.
Garold was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dean Roy Miller; and sister, Dorothy Wills. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaret Marie (Ekiss) Miller; son, Gary Miller & wife Connie; daughter, Kay Kernan & husband Mike; daughter, Sondra Morton & husband Jerry; grandchildren: Krista Wise & husband David, Michael Kernan, Jr. and wife Tobye, and Eric Nicholas Morton; great-grandchildren: Tave Wise, Chapman Wise, Tucker Wise, Luke Kernan, and Lauren Kernan; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Wednesday from 8am to 11am. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
