After finishing high school in Fitzgerald, Loyce worked her way through college, graduating with a BA in Nursing from the University of Georgia.
Loyce then entered the U.S. Air Force Medical Corp., serving as a nurse at the SAC Base in Goose Bay Labrador. During this time she met an Air Force officer who became the love of her life, Jim. Loyce and Jim were married in 1955.
After serving in the Air Force, Loyce went to work as a hospital nurse while Jim attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma. After Jim graduated from medical school, Loyce dedicated herself to being a full time mother, ultimately having three children, Jim, Jr. (Sally), Bill, and Richard (Susan). Thereafter, she became the grandmother to, James R., Charlotte, and Jim III. Loyce is survived by her three sons, their spouses, her three grandchildren, and her sister, Imogene.
Loyce saw to the extracurricular education of her sons in music and theater, and supported each of her sons at countless football, basketball, and baseball games. Loyce was proud that she supported each of her three sons to attain the rank of Eagle Scout.
Loyce was an active member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, serving on its Board for several years.

A celebration of Loyce’s life will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 17th, at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 222 N.W. 15th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73103.
