Ramona Esther Howell
December 18, 1925 – June 28, 2018
Ramona Esther Howell was born in Gans, Oklahoma on December 18, 1925 to Calvin and Opal Crosslin.
She attended Gans High School. She would visit her sister Juanita, in Okmulgee, and Juanita introduced her to her future husband. She married James Franklin Howell on November 23, 1942 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
After Frank left for the War, Ramona worked in the rationing office distributing rationing coupon books. She also worked for Southwestern Bell. Later, after Mike and Debbie were older, she went to Riverside Beauty College in Tulsa, Oklahoma and received her license. She had a beauty shop built on to their home, where she had an excellent clientele. Ramona was one of the best hairdressers, always striving for perfection. After God called Frank and Ramona to pastor in Oklahoma City, she became the church secretary and they did ministry together. She handled all the clerical church business, played the organ or piano in church services, planned meals for fellowships, and always was by Frank’s side in visitation. They were inseparable.
Ramona was extremely talented and she used her talent in the Lord’s work. She was an amazing cook and the family always looked forward to going to “Memaw and Pawpa’s” house.
