She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Sam Jackson McClung; her parents, Robert Dotson Pentecost and Ida Slayden Pentecost; and son-in-law, John W. Carneal.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Patsy (Larry) Harrison and Kathy Carneal; granddaughter, Susan (Scott) Vieira; grandson, Mark ( Molly) Carneal; great-grandsons, Sam Carneal and Harrison Vieira; great-granddaughter, Sarah Beth Carneal; sister-in-law, Willie Mae McClung; and caregivers & friends, Diane Mobley and Laurie Long.
At an early age, Jean became a member of the Old Hickory United Methodist Church. She loved the Lord and her family. She graduated from Dupont High School in 1940.
Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 4-8 pm at Hermitage Funeral Home and Monday, Oct. 15 from 10-11am at Old Hickory United Methodist Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Old Hickory United Methodist Church with Bro. Dave Winton, officiating.
Interment will be held immediately following service at Hermitage Memorial Gardens with Larry Harrison, Mark Carneal, Scott Vieira, Steve Brown, Carnes Flatt and Charles White as Active pallbearers; Sam Carneal and Harrison Vieira as Honorary Pallbearers.
