

Gordon was born on January 13, 1962 in Hartford, Connecticut, the son of the Sandra and the late Gordon Ulmer Jr.
Gordon attended Loomis Chaffee School and went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut. He married his wife Audrey on October 11, 1997.
Gordon was a dedicated and hard working man who worked most of his life in managerial positions at various site construction companies. In his off time he loved to go fishing with his cousin Stephen and his closest friends. He enjoyed spending time at home with his family and many rescued animals, listening to and dancing to his favorite music of the 50’s and 60’s and had a great appreciation for both am and fm radio, he also loved the television programs from the 50s and 60s, especially the Munsters. He enjoyed tending to his beautiful rose bushes and vegetable and flower gardens, visiting his mom at her home in Northern Vermont on weekends and skiing Burke Mountain in the winter months. He loved classic and muscle cars and attending car shows. He was an amazing chef and he would make a delicious pasta dish like no other at gatherings at home that would rival the best of restaurants. He made an outstanding pasta sauce from scratch that he loved to share. He was a genuinely kind soul who loved his family and friends very deeply. He loved learning new languages and random facts and had a way of speaking with anyone with ease. Gordon loved ice hockey and was a great player in his high school days. He loved his life, his home, his friends and his family and he will be missed deeply by so many.
Gordon is survived by Audrey, his wife and soul mate of twenty six years, his daughter Kiera who was his pride and joy and he loved with all of his heart, his mother Sandra, his cousin Stephen Grimes, his aunt Sheila Grimes and her husband Edward Grimes, his aunt Joyce Stange and his cousins Kim and Maggie, his cousin Lisa Valente Tabak and her husband Bruce, his Godfather Roy Moise of Naples Florida, his brother Craig and all of his friends that he considered family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 11:00am in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Lieutenant River Lane, Old Lyme, Connecticut followed by a celebration of life at the country wellness center event space, 391 Norwich Westerly Rd. Unit 4, North Stonington, CT 06359.
