Margaret "Peggy" Kieffer

Margaret "Peggy" Kieffer, of Old Saybrook, passed away on February 15, 2021.

She was born on October 17, 1938, in Reading, PA to the late Allen and Lillian Marburger.

Peggy worked and Pratt & Whitney in Middletown for over 25 years, and then went on to work at the Stop & Shop Pharmacy in Old Saybrook. She loved sports, especially the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, UCONN Basketball, and NASCAR.

She is survived by her children Kathie Kieffer of Portland, CT, and Jessie Volk and her husband Fred of Old Saybrook; siblings Mary Swartz, Dennis Marburger, both of PA, and Deborah Mitchell of DE; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; her companion of 30 years, Donald Buckridge; granddaughter and caretaker Monica Tuscano; special friends, Clara Wilcox and Maribeth Balinskas.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her children, Ronald, Carole, and Pattie Kieffer, and siblings Allen and Richard Marburger and Geraldine Miller.

Services are private. In lieu of flowers donations in Margaret's memory may be made to the Old Saybrook Estuary Council Meals on Wheels at

I will never forget Peggy and Jessy from Westbrook. We also chatted on facebook. She was always a great lady and fun to talk to. My condolences to all her family and friends. She will surely be missed. RIP Peggy! 💖🙏💖

Peggy was a long time friend of my mom and dad who I have had the pleasure of knowing since I was a child. She was a wonderful person, a dedicated mom, and a friend to many. She will be truly missed!
