Thelma Mary (Lucas) Nevells OLD TOWN—Thelma Mary (Lucas) Nevells, 94, died peacefully May 24, 2019 at a Bangor health care facility. She was born in Orono, April 3, 1925, the seventh child of 15, born to Walter and Mary (Martin) Lucas. She attended St. Mary’s School in Orono and St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Class of 1942. She married Carl Nevells on Nov 9, 1946, and they celebrated 63 years of marriage until his passing in 2009. She was a former member of the Daughters of Isabella, American Legion Auxiliary, Orono, and life member of the VFW Auxiliary Old Town. She was predeceased by her loving husband Carl, eight brothers Nealy, Walter, Wilbur, Charles, Clarence, Bernard, Frank, and Kenneth, five sisters Verna, Bunny, Gertrude, Phyllis, and Virginia, and a great granddaughter Rebecca Emily Nevells. She is survived by three children Carl Nevells III and his wife Joanne, Fred Nevells and his wife Anne, and Janet Horock and her husband John; seven grandchildren Scott, Tracey, Stacie, Troy, Jason,Sharon, and Gus; 11 great grandchildren Joshua, Ashley, John, Isabelle, Jackson, Joey, Kailee, Kole, Haidyn, Caroline, Elaina; one great great granddaughter Gabriela; sister May Ranco; special friend and sister-in-law Leatha Lucas; sisters-in-law Gert Thibodeau, Ruth Lucas, and Verla Lucas; close lifelong friend Anita Farris and many friends at Marsh Island Apartments. A graveside service will be conducted 10AM Saturday June 29, 2019 at Evergreen Cemetery, Bradley.
