Dear Margie, I am so sorry I was not able to attend the funeral. I was grateful that I was able to meet your husband in happier circumstances with you at the grocery store,he had a wonderful smile and I could tell he was happy and feeling well.I will think of him when I volunteer at the schlarshop and you know I will remember you in my prayers.

Sending all our thoughts and prayers to Aunt Margie and Cousins Susie and Gail and family. Uncle Bert was such a gentlemen. I loved the emails and cards he would send. So very thoughtful and gracious even after the Red Sox Cardinal games. Based on our interactions I can only imagine how much happiness Uncle Bert brought to others. May his memory be a blessing for everyone. He will be missed.

I worked for Bert for a few years at Edison Brothers in the accessory Dept. He was a good boss and treated me with respect and fairness. I will remember him in my thoughts and pray for him and his family.

Jan Simons and I share your grief. Bert's talent and gentlemanly demeanor brightened our lives for many years at Edison Brothers, and we enjoyed occasional encounters with him at the Rep and, last year, in connection with Lifelong Learning.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about my dear cousin's passing. We were good friends as youngsters and he had a name for me when I was born "Bunny," naming me for a toy rabbit that he had. We communicated from time to time in recent years and he and Margie showed great hospitality to my daughter, Renee, when she went to Washington U. He was helpful with family information in the past few years when Renee was compiling a family ancestry tree. I know he loved his children and grandchildren because he always talked about them affectionately. I have fond memories of our visits when he came to Washington, DC where I worked. I know that the family will have many fine memories of his life. Both Janice and I will miss him. We send our deepest sympathy. Harvey and Janice
