Myron Kopperman

I met Myron a few days after he opened Kopperman's Deli. He provided me something that few medical students were able to have and that was a relationship with people who were not part of the medical world. I was invited out to dinner with the boys, which sometimes included some girls, on a near weekly basis. That provided me an anchor to the real world. In addition to that, I felt that I met half of St. Louis by sitting at one of the tables of Kopperman's. Myron quickly became one of my dearest friends and eventually a part of the family. He became my older, little brother. He was a part of our annual New Year's Party and it just wasn't a major gathering at our house without Myron by my side as my sous chef. He was my son Harrison, Uncle Myron. We called him yearly to have him sing the blessings for the Hanukkah candles not just because he knew the blessings but because he had a wonderful voice. We talked almost daily and his passing has left a huge hole in my heart.

I am heartbroken. Love Myron and have many wonderful memories tooling around the CWE in his limo! And many happy meals sitting outside his deli. Best bagel chips . . . ever!

Myron and I go back to about 1985 and the food business. He was always a gentleman, kind and compassionate. So sorry to hear this. Now Myron will be able to wine, dine and dazzle on the next level... have a good rest my friend.

One of the nicest guys I've ever met. May he forever rest in peace. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends. God bless!
