Arletta F. Bokelman July 7, 1924 - April 10, 2018 of Omaha, Nebraska

Arletta was born in Belgrade, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Clyde and Ida (Neemeyer) Sundermann. She was received as a child of God through the waters of Holy Baptism on August 10, 1924, at Peace Lutheran Church (Timber Creek), Belgrade. She was confirmed in her Christian faith on April 10, 1938, also at Peace Lutheran, Belgrade. She attended country school in Nance County and graduated from high school at Fullerton, Nebraska, c.1940. While working at an Army Supply Depot in Topeka, Kansas, she met a young man from New York City by the name of Fred Keiderling. He had been in the Army Air Force during World War II. They were married in c.1950 and he was deceased in 1968. After being a widow for several years she met a widower by the name of Jacob Peter Bokelman, who also was born at Belgrade, Nebraska. After Jake's wife, Delores, died in 1981, Arletta and Jake were married July 2,1983. Arletta received four step-children and their families as a result of that marriage. God blessed Arletta and Jake with a very happy marriage that lasted until November 21, 2000, when Jake was called out of time into eternity. Jake and Arletta were born received into membership at Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church, Omaha; Jake in 1979 and Arletta in 1984, where she had been a faithful member for 34 years. Arletta was a joyful person and enjoyed life and living to the fullest extent. She even had the experience of stomping grapes with her bare feet to make wine. She had a long career at Mutual of Omaha and loved the travel with Jake. She was a lover of ceramics and always remembered friends and relatives with birthday, anniversary, Christmas cards, etc. She also loved to be in her back yard, feeding the birds and doing yard work. She will be missed by her family and her family in the faith at Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phillippians 4:13) Preceded in death by husbands: Fred Keiderling & Jacob Bokelman. Sister: Alvina Sunderman. Survived by Cousins and extended family Visitation Monday April 16th at 10:00 am prior to Funeral Services at 11:00 am at Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church, 15002 Q St. Omaha. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Omaha, NE . Memorials to Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church or Peace Lutheran Church, Nance Co. NE.
