Jane E. Temple, 84, of Oneonta passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Chestnut Park Rehab. & Nursing Center, Oneonta. She was born June 12, 1933 in Oneonta the daughter of the late Fay E. and Bertha (Roof) Kelley. For many years, Jane was a geriatric care technician at A.O. Fox Nursing Home. On August 13, 1993, Jane married Chester DeCarr, Sr. in Morris. Jane enjoyed doing crafts and traveling and camping with Chester. She loved her animals but her greatest love was for her family. Jane is survived by her loving husband, Chester DeCarr, Sr.; 3 children, Gordon and Joe Temple and Judy Temple-Stripp; 4 step children, Chester DeCarr, Jr., Cathleen and Carla DeCarr and Cheryl Foote; 8 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; 3 sisters, Joyce Harkenreader, Shirley Collins and Betty Clark; 1 brother, James Kelley; special niece, Karen Ryder; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 1 son, Gary Temple; 3 step children, Curtis and Chris DeCarr and Cindy Paramore; 1 step granddaughter, Kayla DeCarr. A service to celebrate the life of Jane E. Temple will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta. For those who wish memorial donations may be made to either Chestnut Park Rehab. & Nursing Center, 330 Chestnut Street, Oneonta, New York 13820 or to the Susquehanna Animal Shelter, 4841 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, New York 13326 in memory of Jane E.
