Nelda “Culpepper” Shepherd passed away on September 16th, 2018 in Upland, California at age 79. She was born on November 2nd, 1938 in the city of Los Angeles to Paul and Lorene Culpepper. She was a resident of the city of Upland for 68 years. Nelda spent most of her life working as a bank teller but she was also a counselor, pastor, teacher, worship leader, homemaker and most importantly a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful friend. She was a member of the Cucamonga Christian Fellowship and a former women’s ministry leader/director. She also sang in many trios and quartets, including The Lyrics, Mountain Top Experience, Sounds of His Coming, Obadiah, and Emmaus Road. She was preceded in death by her brother Ted Culpepper. Her beautiful life will forever be remembered in the lives of her loving husband John of 61 years, children; Jonny (Sharon), Jana (Jerry), Jerad (Diana) and Julie (Stephen), 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, Sisters; Sheila Spears, Cheryl Culpepper, and Lorinda Culpepper, and many loving nieces and nephews.
