Harry and I met Ella and Virgil at First Baptist of DeBary. We began attending there shortly after we moved into our home in 2000. They have been faithful friends & great encouragers to our family. It is hard to believe that Ella is passed on. Up until they moved into the apartment, assisted living, Ella was still calling and checking to see how we were doing. This is while she was having health issues and on oxygen. Ella is truly a treasure and we will miss her dearly. She and Virgil are very dear. Our prayers go out to the family and friends. Ella, you will be missed and always remembered. You are now in perfect peace. Well done, beloved friend. Until we meet again. 1 Corinthians 2:9

When my Mom died and my Dad was living alone in Florida, we were concerned about him and how he was doing. Once he married Ella we were confident that he was in good hands and the active concern was no longer on our minds. We watched Ella love our Dad and walk with him for almost nineteen years of marriage. She was his faithful companion in sickness and in health. At different times when Dad had to be in the hospital Ella would stay with him overnight. As he aged and their lifestyle changed, Ella remained content and faithful.
Ella had a faith in God that was real. In this last year as her own health was failing she fought to cling to God and work through the terror of the unknown. She testified that she saw God continuing to work in her even through the health issues so that she would be more dependent on Him and that in the midst of the most difficult trial of her life she was growing closer to God along with her husband. She has finished her race and has kept the faith and is now home with God because of her faith in Jesus Christ and his death, burial and resurrection.

Ella was such a sweet and godly woman. I only met her a couple times and found her so peaceful and kind. I am saddened by the loss of her, but comforted to know she is in Gods presence. I’m thankful for having the chance of meeting Ella and hearing all the wonderful things about her from my husband.
