Words cannot describe how much we will miss him. He lit up every room with his big blue eyes and sunny smile and always knew how to make people laugh.
Jim traveled the world serving his country in the United States Navy. His tours included the Vietnam War as a Corpsman. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
A devote Catholic he could be found singing in the choir, reading or serving as a Eucharistic Minister. He also was a Third Order Secular Franciscan and a founding member of two Fraternities, St. Maximilian Kobe in Deltona and Lady Poverty at San Pedro, Winter Park, FL.
Jim was not afraid to get up and go, he loved driving, visiting with family & friends and eating ice cream! He had quite the green thumb growing beautiful trees, roses and citrus.
Jim was ever so proud of all his family and loved them deeply. Jim always kept the lights on and the door open for all. He is survived by his children; Dr. Michele Kane CAPT (ret) United States Navy, Kelley Burke, Shalene Gibson, Sean Perigord and Jeannine Perigord his grandchildren; Abbi, Carole, Cameron, Alexey, Kailee, Payton, Parker, Collin, Jaden and his brother Rick and niece Cheryl.
We are ever so grateful to the wonderfully attentive and compassionate staff at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center who took excellent care of Jim throughout his fight with cancer.
Jim is now home, with God, in Deltona, laid to rest with his beloved wife, Carole. Peace to all.
