I can’t believe that Uncle Jim is gone. And 2-years to the day my uncle Bob died. My mom, Jeanne Golden always said her brothers were the best but they were a handful growing up. It was difficult having my mom and her two brothers living so far apart. But writing letters and phone calls kept the family together. Even when Mom and Dad moved to Fla with us - they stayed in touch with their lunches and gatherings.

My Uncke Jim was a great guy. Mistunderstood with his humor sometimes. but still a great guy.

RIP Uncle Jim!
You were loved!

It's always sad when you lose touch with loved ones; and even sadder when those loved ones are no longer with us. I'll always remember Uncle Jim as one of the funniest men I ever knew growing up; and in the Whetsel family, that was saying a lot. His little brother, Bob, was my dad; and he was also quite the comedian...more often than not when it wasn't appropriate. I can only imagine how they drove their sister, my Aunt Jeannie, half-crazy as kids and teenagers; as she always seemed the serious sibling in the bunch. I can still remember doing more laughing than anything else whenever Uncle Jim was in the room (or should I say 'working the room')? Those were good times. So good, that I remember telling my wife, who never got to meet Jim or Janet in the more than thirty years that we've been married, to make sure that we always sent them a Christmas card; because of some of the great memories I had as a kid. Losing Uncle Jim almost two years to the day that I lost my dad almost seems to make sense, in a way. To Janet, Tim, Jim, and family, our deepest sympathies.
