Don Forbecker ended every visit with this same platitude – and got a grin every time. He never met anyone but friends. Age, color, race, two or four legs – even two wheels - none was ever a consideration.
He was particularly fond of kids. None were strangers and he left each giggling at his antics.
He served his country in both the Navy and Merchant Marines and after those stints donned the uniform of the Orlando Police Department. His was a life of service.
After retiring he pursued his passions – fishing, model sail boating and amateur radio. And his wife Carol – since 1965 – was at his side dipping for shrimp, baiting lines and enjoying the peaceful majesty of his hand-built sailboats gliding across local Orlando lakes. She preceded him in December and is missed just as much.
He is survived by friends, nieces, nephews and in-laws Jan and Al Jarolan.
Don and Carol – it was always a pleasure to see you. You will be missed – but you both know that.
