John Darwin Knappenberger
May 12, 1922 – April 3, 2018
John Knappenberger, 95, passed away on April 3rd. He was the youngest of 7 children and grew up in Chaleroi, Pa. During WWII he served in the Army, was captured at the Battle of the Bulge and spent 4 months in a German POW camp. After serving as a supervisor for West Penn Power Utility Company for 39 years, he retired to Orlando. John is survived by his wife, Shirley (Kalinoski), of 50 years, his daughter Janet Boswell of Cornelius, NC, and his grandson Christopher Boswell, Jr. of Huntersville, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either Park Lake Presbyterian Church (Orlando, Fl.) or Ronald McDonald House Charities.
