Jacqueline L. Costa (DuCharme), 91, died August 17, in her home, in Orleans, where she lived for almost eighty years. She was born in Lowell, MA April 16, 1928. She is survived by her four children – Martin and wife Shelli, Michelle and partner Brian Wescott, Marc and wife Amy, Monica and partner Heather Dockstader. Eight grandchildren, Elise Costa, Daryl Chase, Marcia Viprino, Derrick Costa, Shelly Eib, Amanda Challies, Kirstyn Costa, and Jamie Costa, and nine great- grandchildren, her sister in law, Elaine DuCharme, her cousins and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Elmer M. Costa, her parents Albert and Irene DuCharme, and her two brothers Jean and Albert Jr.
Jacquie graduated from Orleans High School, and worked for H.R. Coffin Company for over twenty five years, before embarking on her own family businesses with her husband and children. She was a long time communicant of Saint Joan of Arc and a member of the thrift shop guild.
There will be a memorial mass at 10:30 on Thursday August 22 at St Joan of Arc in Orleans, with a reception to follow at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Jacquie’s name can be made to Cape Cod Alzheimer’s Family Support Center, 2095 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631.
