Marie Beach

She grew up in Providence, RI, the daughter of Josephine and Michael Maiello, and graduated from Classical High School.

Graduated from Pawtucket Memorial Hospital School of Nursing as an RN in 1956 and worked at in the pediatrics dept. there.

She married Ellsworth ‘Red’ Beach, shortly after being set up on a blind date by life-long friends Maxie and Bev Sarazin of Orleans.

She and her family spent many years in Mansfield, MA and South Windsor, CT.

Red and Maria retired to Chatham in 1993, shortly after he told her “you’re swaying me to Chatham”.

She is survived by her brothers Edward, and Daniel, her son, Michael (and his sweetheart Lenni Armstrong) of Somerville, MA, her daughter, Linda (and her husband Phil Floyd) and her granddaughter, Lauren of Redwood City, CA, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Red Beach, and her brother, Michael Maiello.

The wake will be at the Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans, MA on Cape Cod, Friday, November 11th from 4PM -7:00. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm at St. Joan of Arc Church on Saturday, Nov. 12th, followed by a reception at the Chatham VFW Hall George Ryder Road, next to the Chatham Airport. Her ashes will be spread at a memorial in the spring or early summer, at a date yet TBD.
