Nancy E. Buckhoff

NORTH EASTHAM – Nancy E. Buckhoff, 83, passed away at Wingate Nursing Home in Brewster on May 20, 2017 after a long period of declining health. She was born in 1933 to the late John and Marion Roche in Albany, NY.

Married for 62 years, she is survived by her husband John Buckhoff and six of her seven children: John Buckhoff, III of West Bath, ME; Linda Huether of East Berne, NY; Lisa Buckhoff of North Eastham, MA; James Buckhoff of Leeds, ME; Karen Jackson of Cadyville, NY; and Stephen Buckhoff of Pocasset, MA. She was predeceased by her oldest daughter, Marianne Nolan of Guilderland, NY. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She is also survived by her brothers: John Roche of San Diego, CA; and Robert Roche of Delmar, NY.

She was a graduate of Holy Names Academy in Albany, NY, Maria College in Albany, NY, and Regis College in Weston, MA. She became a registered nurse in New York State at the age of 48. After service at two hospitals in Albany, NY, she retired as nursing supervisor from the Guilderland Center Nursing Home. She and her husband retired and moved to Cape Cod in 1995. Nancy loved children, Cape Cod beaches, and playing bridge.

Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation for VNA Hospice, PO Box 370, Hyannis, MA 02601.
