Bill was born in Hartford, CT and attended Hartford Public Schools. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a World War II veteran.
In 1955, Bill moved his growing family to Windsor Locks, CT and resided there for 30 years. He was employed by the U.S. Postal System for 38 years until his retirement in 1986. Bill was very active in the V.F.W, and served as its Commander in Chief in 1973 for the Smalley Bros. Post 6123 W. L. Conn. Bill and his family vacationed on his beloved Cape Cod for many years in North Eastham, MA. He and his wife, Shirley moved there permanently in 1986. Bill was also active in volunteer work in Eastham and served as its Grand Marshall for Windmill Weekend in 1999. Bill could be found on Sundays at the Salt Pond Digging for Cherrystones and Quahogs.
Bill leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Shirley A. Cosker; his seven children, Kathleen Rosenzweig, Pam Miano and her husband, Michael Miano, Billy Cosker, Kevin Cosker and his wife, Lisa, Suzanne Berthiaume and her husband, Jerry, David Cosker and his wife, Cathy, Carolyn Cosker; his sister in law, Bevy Jones; his ten grandchildren, Aaron Rosenzweig, Alison Mansfield, Gina Miano, Paul Miano, Meaghan, Courtney, Kyle Cosker, Rachael MacDonald, Kelly, Christopher Cosker, Hanna and Sarah Morse; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 1 pm to 3 pm on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way in Orleans.
