Leonore Downick

Leonore Downick, 89, of Ormond Beach passed away October 11, 2013. Leonore was born in Elmhurst, NY on October 5, 1924, daughter of Oscar and Carrie (Barene) Thompson. A longtime resident of New York, Leonore moved to Ormond Beach in 1998. As an executive secretary for the CEO and chairman of the board for both Pan-Am Airlines and Intercontinental Hotels, Mrs. Downick traveled extensively for the president of both institutions for over 20 years and made numerous decisions for the company. She enjoyed traveling and visited all but two continents of this world. She ate at some of the finest restaurants and was extremely knowledgeable of all cultures. She will be remembered for her generosity and kind attitude. Reading her bible and listening to Christian music brought her much joy. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted sister, Audrey Cunsolo and loving nephew's Ronald Cunsolo and his wife, Denise and Robert Cunsolo. Her husband Peter predeceased her in 1984. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd. Ormond Beach. The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Entombment will follow in Volusia Memorial Park. Donations may be made in her memory Florida Hospital Hospice or to the Alzheimer Foundation.
