Elham Abuchacra Saikali
June 20, 1946 – January 19, 2023

Elham Abuchacra Saikali, was born on June 20th, 1946 in Marjaayoun, Lebanon. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She left this world suddenly on January 19th, 2023 at the age of 76.
A loving wife to late Assaf Saikali, a wonderful mother to Gisèle (Denis Cabral), Suzanne (Marc-André Simard), Katia and Linda (Marc-Antoine Le Guerrier-Aubry) and a cherished grandmother to Mathieu, Nicholas, Jasmine and Chad.
Elham “Hamo” will be remembered as a gifted cook who loved spending time in the kitchen, creating tables of delicious meals for her family and friends, a talented gardener and a hard-working lady. She was the kindest person you could ever meet, she opened her heart and her home to many people over the years and she will be deeply missed by all.
“Mom, you were the most exceptional, loving, caring, inspiring and beautiful woman inside and out to us and a dear friend to many. Rest assured that we will take care of one another. All that we are or ever hope to be, we owe it to you our beautiful angel. Forever in our hearts.”
The family will receive relatives and friends at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Tuesday, January 31st, 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 750 Ridgewood Ave, on Wednesday, February 1st, 2023 at 10:30 am. The funeral will be available through livestream on the St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral - Ottawa Facebook page on https://www.facebook.com/SEAOCO. Interment to follow at Capital Memorial Cemetery.
