Constance Mae Montgomery aka Grandma Giggly (Meecup) (GG) passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs on January 16th at the age of 85.
Connie is predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and Tracy Campbell and her loving husband Robert C. Montgomery.
Connie is lovingly remembered by daughters Diane Shrigley (Reg) of Orlando, Cheryl Skinner (Russ) of Orlando and Donna Smithson (Rodger) of Oviedo; grandchildren Chris Skinner (Lara) of Wilkesboro, NC, Leah Snider (Ryan) of Lake Mary, Stephanie Trotta of Longwood, Adam Shrigley of Dallas, TX and Austin Shrigley of San Diego, CA; great-grandchildren Chloe Skinner, Abby Skinner, Riley Snider and Peyton Snider.
Connie was born in Rochester New York on February 22, 1932. She married Alan Jones on April 15, 1950 and they later divorced. She moved to Florida in 1975 where she later married the love of her life, Robert C. Montgomery, on September 19, 1975. Connie spent most of her early career in New York in the banking industry, then as office manager for a medical office in Casselberry after her move to Florida.
Connie loved to travel (especially cruising), shop, crop, and decorate for parties and holidays. She was a master at flower arrangements. Connie was the life of the party, the bell of the ball, always laughing and always happy; hence the nickname Grandma Giggly given her by her grandchildren. She was a very strong, loving, caring and giving person as evidenced by her family and her many friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at National Cremation and Burial Society, 7565 Red Bug Lake Road, Oviedo on Sunday, February 11 at 2:00 PM. A reception will take place at the home of Reg and Diane Shrigley, 4548 Thornlea Road, Orlando, FL 32817 following the service. Attendees are encouraged to wear joyful, colorful clothing to celebrate her zest for life and love of the beach.
