She was born December 19, 1939, in San Diego CA, a daughter of the late Aubrey and Josephine Midgett.
Mary is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bill Hornsby; her son Bob Hornsby and his wife, Amy; her daughter Heather Easton and her husband, Fred; her sister Dorothy Newell of Green Cove Springs FL; her two grandsons Eric Hornsby and his wife, Melissa and Bobby Hornsby and his wife, Kristin and five great grandchildren, Eric, Sydney, Elijah, Reese and Allie. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
She was a regular of Pershing Avenue Christian Church, and a homemaker and a devoted Navy wife. She enjoyed church, family gatherings, doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, walking with her husband and laughter. Mary laughed easily and finding and providing joy everywhere she looked. For many years Mary took care of the nursery during regular church services. Many of the young adults in the community have fond memories of "Miss Mary".
