Born in Gordon, Nebraska, Margey graduated from Hay Springs High School. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Denver at the urging of her sister, Maxine. She was employed at Joslins Department store and worked in a factory to support the war effort during WWII. After marriage she worked as a Homemaker and devoted mother to her two boys.
Among other activities, Margey volunteered for the American Legion Auxiliary and Senior Friends. Margey was a skilled seamstress and credits her Mother for teaching her to sew. She made everything from dresses to shirts to rodeo chaps.
She is survived by her two sons Jeffry Norton (Tamara Barkdoll), Randall (Nancy) Norton, Grandson Sean (Maresa) Norton, and Granddaughter Taylor (Brian) Langston. She also has five Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister’s Maxine, Harriet and Beverly.
A graveside service will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO. Thursday, July 5th at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary Post 37 Grand Jct. Co.
