Roosevelt Madelon was born on September 15, 1944 in Thomazeau, Haiti to Odelon and Fenicia Madelon. He was the oldest son of 8 siblings; Andrea, Odelia, Delinois, Felix, Eve, Kinet, and Emmanuel Madelon. His father, the patriarch of the family, was a farmer who worked very hard to raise strong and independent children. His mother, was a nurturing, God-fearing woman, whom Roosevelt loved dearly. As a child growing up Roosevelt was devoted to his church l' église Baptiste de Cotin and participated in the choir. During this time, music became his passion, and he used his gift to teach himself how to play the accordion.

At about 15 years old Roosevelt moved to Port-au-Prince where he became an active member of Deuxième l' église Baptiste de Port-au-Prince lead by pastor Senofa Pointdujour where he was a member of the church choir. In search of more opportunity this self taught musician left Haiti as a young adult and moved to Canada. This journey later led him to the United States where he learned many trades in order to support a growing family.

While in the U.S he continued his walk with the Lord by joining Missionary Baptist Church of Boston lead by Pastor Soliny Vedrine and served as the choir director. Following God’s plan, Roosevelt was instrumental in the founding of The First Haitian and the Missionary Baptist Church of Brockton where he held roles choir director and deacon. He later relocated his family to Palm Bay, Florida where he and a few individuals founded the First Haitian Evangelical Church of Palm Bay. For the past 25 years he dedicated his life and talents to serve God and his community. During this time Roosevelt held various roles ranging from dish washing to janitorial services, fundraising, pianist/organist, Sunday school teacher, deacon, and choir director. Maestro lived his life choosing God as his first priority. His gift and devotion for music touched many lives, and drove him to pursue God more each day. He was dependable, always the first to come in and the last to leave, never complaining, always eager to do the Lord's work.

Roosevelt's family celebrate memories of him nurturing his beloved garden and sharing his crop with others. He valued special moments with family, using his love for food as a pastime with his children and grandchildren. At times Roosevelt would feed them interesting yet delicious meals like potatoes and milk, eggs with ketchup, and occasionally sneaking the grandchildren some coffee. From taking road trips across the country and walking through his garden with the grandchildren, his love was felt throughout his life.

Roosevelt was a loving husband, caring father and doting grandfather. He worked tirelessly to secure a future for his children and grandchildren. On August 9, 2019 God took Roosevelt Madelon his faithful servant to be with Him.
