LaJunia Lenoir McNeal

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Don Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

She was born in Caviness on August 25, 1933, a daughter of Lewis and Lillian Lucille Sheather Lenoir.

She attended Paris schools and graduated from Paris High School. LaJunia was a longtime member of Graham Street Baptist Church before joining Highway Full Gospel Church.

Her career at Hollywood Vassarette spanned more than twenty years. She then worked more than twenty years at L. P. McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Following retirement from the hospital she was a personal care giver for a number of years.

It could be said honestly of LaJunia that she loved everyone she met. Those who knew her felt her genuine expressions of her love, in word, and deed. She never met a stranger, and welcomed all to her home and table. She was a shining example of her Lord Jesus in all that she did, and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

On December 24, 1952 she married John McNeal, in Paris.

LaJunia was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 21, 1988, and a son, Steven Lynn McNeal.

She is survived by two sons, Randy McNeal, of Powderly, and Mark McNeal, and wife Katrina, of Emberson; a daughter, Sharon Crabb and husband Jack, of Powderly; grandchildren; Crystal Crabb-McMikel & husband Tracy of Goodland, OK, Courtney Odom & husband Ryan of Novice and Cody McNeal & wife Jenny of the Midway Community, five great grandchildren; Londyn, Kamdyn & Emeryn Odom and Paisley & Jace McNeal, two brothers; Billy Lenoir & wife Lidia of Westminster and Ronnie Lenoir & wife Patty of Marshall along with a number of nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

She lived her life for the Lord and comforted others with her contagious laugh, loving words and big hugs. She loved unconditionally and never met a stranger. She spent most of her days at the hospital, nursing homes or funeral services for those she met and loved along the way and never forgot. She lived to care for others and spent countless hours on the phone, and made sure that they knew she was praying for them and their families. She showed her love through her cooking and was known to all as “Granny”.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Larry Smith, Lawrence Malone, Neil Collard, Tracy McMikel, Ryan Odom and Tommy Harris. Randy Warnell will serve as an honorary bearer.
