Rae was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his sister Frances of Pasadena, Texas; brother Eric of Osseo, Michigan; brother Allen of Pasadena, Texas; two aunts, Elizabeth Northcott of Toledo, Ohio; Dorothy Opre of Deer Park, Texas and several cousins.
Rae graduated from Hillsdale High School and Michigan State University with a degree in Public Administration. There, he was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Rae loved God, his family and friends, the United States of America and MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY. He began working in retail at the age of 14 and continued working through college in Michigan. He transferred to a position in Baltimore, Maryland where he was a member of First United Methodist Church of Annapolis and sang in the choir. He was also a member of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Chorus. He returned to Michigan where he worked as a bank supervisor before retiring. In 2016, Rae moved to Pasadena, Texas. He was a member of the Pasadena First United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. Rae was an avid reader and enjoyed music, singing, golf, bowling and fishing.
At his request, he was cremated and is in the care of Grand View Funeral Home. A "Celebration of Life Service" will be held in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, 1062 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas 77504 with Pastor Arturo Cadar officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 1062 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas 77504 in memory of Rae W. Comar.
