Richard Louis Skrobarczyk
September 29, 1947 – March 6, 2019
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, on Ash Wednesday March 6th 2019, Richard Louis Skrobarczyk, was called home to our Lord at the age of 71.
Richard was born September 29, 1947 in Corpus Christi Texas to Louis and Anita(Dillman) Skrobarczyk. He began his life as his dad's first little helper. Richard always said “at 5 it was daddy can I go to work with you, and at 15 dad do I have to”. He served in the Coast Guard from 1970 to 1974, and after leaving relocated to Houston to began his 42 year career at the light company. When on one fateful evening he skated in to forever with his soon to be wife Mary Lois Burns. Richard had a passion for traveling and no place was ever to far as long as his wheels could take him. He would go with his loving wife and kids in tow; like Alaska just to see if it was big, and Mexico in August to make sure it was hot.
Richard was the kind of person who had more stories to tell then he had time to tell them; from family stories, to hunting and traveling any place you could think of going he probably had already gone. One thing even his mother in law knew early on was there were two ways the right way and the Richard way. Richard did everything he could for those he loved and much for those he barely knew. The world has lost a great man and this family has lost an irreplaceable piece.
Richard was preceded in death by his infant son Darryl Thomas Skrobarczyk, his father, Louis, mother, Anita, and four brothers Little St. Joseph, Fulton, Mark, and Robert. He is survived by the love of his life, Lois, of 41 years, his children, Sarah Marie Skrobarczyk, Amanda Gail Skrobarczyk, Christine Anita Skrobarczyk, Jonathan Louis Skrobarczyk, Isaac Joseph Skrobarczyk, his grandchildren, Bridgit, Xavier, Samantha, and Joe. His siblings Carol, James, Joan, Catherine, Louis, Steven, Jerome, George, Elizabeth, Michael, Laura; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
