August 23, 1930 – July 24, 2021
Wiley “Weldon” Gregston was born in Buffalo Gap, Texas on August 23, 1930, to Irene & Cecil Gregston. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 23, 2021, just one month shy of his 91st birthday.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Irene & Cecil Gregston; his ex-wives Paula Gregston, Sharon Gregston, there probably a few others as he was married 6 times. Weldon is survived by his daughter, Tonya Vikos and husband Chris, grandsons Carson and Tyler Vikos, Tyler’s wife, Courtney, and great granddaughter, Aluna and bonus kids, Sandy Hartman, April Kelly and her partner Renee Nelson, John “JK” Kelly his wife Sara, and granddaughter, Kendyl Kelly.
“Weldon”, to his family and friends served in the Navy during the Korean War. After his time in the service, Weldon went to beauty college, where he met Paula Krohn. They married and had a daughter, Tonya Gregston-Vikos.
He later became an iron worker for several years. Upon retiring from that profession, he went to work at “the dock” for Clerks & Checkers at the Houston Ship Channel until his ultimate retirement.
Weldon was an avid hunter. He enjoyed raising English Pointers to help him hunt for birds. He made many lifelong friends and created terrific memories with those who joined him on his hunting trips.
Dad will be missed by the many families and friends he leaves behind, but he was well loved and cared for in his final years. He left a mark on everyone that knew him for his quick, dry witted sense of humor, his love of animals and his countless “pranks”. Our hearts are certainly broken but we know that you are surrounded by all the things you love and are now free to enjoy again.
Due to COVID 19, there will not be a funeral. His ashes are to be spread on the property he once shared with his wife, Sharon. In his memory, please consider donating to the Animal Rescue of your choice.
