I am also her grandson. I got to spend a short time with her. She was such a incredible woman. She and my Grandfather Ted Childress and my mother Sherry Childress chose life for me. For that I am eternally grateful. They gave me the genes that make me who I am to my core . I am so humbled. It was love at first site the first time we met , as she ran out the door arms wide open and said “ you look just like your grandfather” there is no greater feeling . I could finally stop grieving. I still cherish that day forever.
. A Christian lady who was a heart of gold. The last day I saw her she said” honey no matter what anyone says Know this, I will always love you and will see you in heaven” . That was the last words she spoke to me. and that gives me peace . Memaw I have things to I have to finish here on earth. But know I will see you and poppa soon at the pearly gates.

She was a very beautiful soul, inside and out. One strong, wise, smart, classy, young-hearted woman, best described as compassionate . I'm blessed to have married her grandson, Jamey Meredith as well as had the opportunities to visit with her in her beautiful home. I'm sending much love to Heaven, Memaw. May you RIP <3. #giveroflife #ourgrandmothertoo #speciallady #sheisloved

We had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Colleen a couple of years ago after she was in need of a local contractor to complete some repairs to her home. I had known of her through my real estate connections; but had never had the pleasure of meeting her face to face. She became such a joy to be around and chat with! I was so surprised to learn of her age; she was always so full of energy and stayed very busy. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time! We will surely miss her!

Brent and I were so very sad to hear of the passing of our very dear friend Ms. Colleen. She was the true embodiment of a southern lady. She was gentle, kind and always eager to help you in whatever way that she could. She always looked absolutely beautiful and I remember being so impressed by the way she carried herself and presented herself. She believed, hoped and pursued nothing but the very best for everyone she knew and loved. She was a woman of faith and held fast to that faith all the years that we had the pleasure of knowing her. I will never forget the sound of her sweet voice and that beautiful southern accent...and her laughter. She was just precious. Heaven has another sweet angel but she will be lovingly remembered and admired by those of us who were so privileged to have known her. Love you Ms. Colleen - Rest Well
